Al-Jinn


(72:1) Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively
listened1 to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to
their people) and said:

(72:2) “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an2 which guides
to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate
aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”;3

(72:3) and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either
a wife or a son”;4

(72:4) and that “the foolish among us5 have been wont to say outrageous
things about Allah”;

(72:5) and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie
about Allah”,6

(72:6) and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some
among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance7 of the jinn”;

(72:7) and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never
raise anyone (as a Messenger)”;8

(72:8) and that “we tried to pry (the secrets of) the heaven, but we found
it full of terrible guards and shooting meteors”;

(72:9) and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but
anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”;9

(72:10) and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the
earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”;0

(72:11) and that “some of us are upright and some of us are otherwise for
we follow widely divergent paths”;1

(72:12) and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah
on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”;2

(72:13) and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to
believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss
or being subjected to any injustice”;3

(72:14) and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to
Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right
Course;

(72:15) but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.”4

(72:16) If5 people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would
have vouchsafed them abundant rain6

(72:17) so that We might try them through this bounty.7 Whoso
turns away from the remembrance of his Lord,8 He will cause him
to suffer a grievous chastisement;

(72:18) and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”;9

(72:19) and when Allah's servant0 stood up to call on Him, they
well-nigh swarmed him.

(72:20) Say, (O Prophet): “I call on my Lord alone, and I do not associate
aught with Him in His Divinity.”1

(72:21) Say: “Surely neither it is in my power to hurt you nor to bring you
to the Right Way.”

(72:22) Say: “None can protect me from Allah, nor can I find a refuge apart
from Him.

(72:23) (My task is no more than) to deliver Allah's proclamation and His
messages.2 And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, surely
the Fire of Hell awaits him; therein he will abide in perpetuity.”3

(72:24) (They shall not change their ways) until they see that against which
they had been warned, and then they will know whose helpers are weaker and whose
supporters are fewer in number.4

(72:25) Say: “I know not whether what you are promised is near or whether
my Lord will prolong its term.5

(72:26) He is the Knower of the Unseen, and He does not disclose His Unseen
to anyone6

(72:27) other than to a Messenger whom He chooses7 (for the bestowal
of any part of the knowledge of the Unseen), whereafter He appoints guards who
go before him and behind him,8

(72:28) so that He may know that they have delivered the messages of their
Lord.9 He encompasses in His knowledge their surroundings and keeps
a count of all things.”0

سورة (الجِنِّ) من السُّوَر المكية، نزلت بعد سورة (الأعراف)، وقد جاءت على ذِكْرِ شرفِ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وتحقُّقِ الكرامة له بعد أن رفَضه أهلُ الأرض وآذَوْهُ، فليَّنَ اللهُ له قلوبَ عالَم الجِنِّ؛ فاستمَعوا لهذا القرآن، وآمنوا به، وبرسالة مُحمَّد صلى الله عليه وسلم؛ لِما لهذا القرآن من عظمة وهداية وبيان واضح، والإنس أدعى أن يؤمنوا بهذا الكتابِ العظيم.

قوله تعالى: {قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اْسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٞ مِّنَ اْلْجِنِّ} [الجن: 1]:

عن عبدِ اللهِ بن عباسٍ رضي الله عنهما، قال: «انطلَقَ النبيُّ ﷺ في طائفةٍ مِن أصحابِه عامِدِينَ إلى سُوقِ عُكَاظَ، وقد حِيلَ بَيْنَ الشياطينِ وبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السماءِ، وأُرسِلتْ عليهم الشُّهُبُ، فرجَعتِ الشياطينُ إلى قومِهم، فقالوا: ما لكم؟ فقالوا: حِيلَ بَيْننا وبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السماءِ، وأُرسِلتْ علينا الشُّهُبُ، قالوا: ما حالَ بَيْنَكم وبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السماءِ إلا شيءٌ حدَثَ، فاضرِبوا مشارقَ الأرضِ ومغاربَها، فانظُروا ما هذا الذي حالَ بَيْنَكم وبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السماءِ، فانصرَفَ أولئك الذين توجَّهوا نحوَ تِهامةَ إلى النبيِّ ﷺ، وهو بنَخْلةَ، عامِدِينَ إلى سُوقِ عُكَاظَ، وهو يُصلِّي بأصحابِه صلاةَ الفجرِ، فلمَّا سَمِعوا القرآنَ استمَعوا له، فقالوا: هذا واللهِ الذي حالَ بَيْنَكم وبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السماءِ، فهنالك حينَ رجَعوا إلى قومِهم، وقالوا: يا قومَنا: {إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبٗا ١ يَهْدِيٓ إِلَى اْلرُّشْدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدٗا} [الجن: 1-2]؛ فأنزَلَ اللهُ على نبيِّه ﷺ: {قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اْسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٞ مِّنَ اْلْجِنِّ} [الجن: 1]، وإنَّما أُوحِيَ إليه قولُ الجِنِّ». أخرجه البخاري (٧٧٣).

* سورة (الجِنِّ):

سُمِّيت سورة (الجِنِّ) بهذا الاسم؛ لاشتمالها على أحوالهم وأقوالهم، وعلاقتهم بالإنس.

* سورة {قُلْ أُوحِيَ}:

سُمِّيت بذلك؛ لافتتاحها بهذا اللفظِ.

2. الجِنُّ ورحلة الإيمان (٣-١٥).

3. من صفاتِ الرَّكْبِ، والداعي إليه (١٦-٢٥).

4. الخاتمة (٢٦-٢٨).

يقول البِقاعيُّ: «مقصودها: إظهارُ شرفِ هذا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم؛ حيث لُيِّنَ له قلوبُ الجِنِّ والإنس وغيرِهم، فصار مالكًا لقلوب المُجانِس وغيره؛ وذلك لعظمة هذا القرآنِ، ولُطْفِ ما له من عظيم الشأن.
هذا، والزمانُ في آخره، وزمان لُبْثِه في قومه دون العُشْرِ من زمن قوم نوح عليهما السلام، أولِ نبيٍّ بعثه اللهُ إلى المخالفين، وما آمن معه من قومه إلا قليلٌ.
وعلى ذلك دلَّت تسميتُها بـ(الجِنِّ)، وبـ {قُلْ أُوحِيَ}». "مصاعد النظر للإشراف على مقاصد السور" للبقاعي (3 /127).
